Caring for your Silks

Essential care instructions for laundering fine bedding

Investing in silk is a game changer for the health of your hair, skin and sleep. But without the right care, the natural goodness of silk can quickly be washed away by harsh detergents, and improper laundering.

The following instructions were designed to be a quick and easy guide; here are the basics.

Hand Wash (preferred)

1. Fill a tub or sink with cold water
2. Add a small amount of delicate silk detergent
3. Delicately wash garments
4. Rinse with cold water
5. Hang to dry in the shade

Machine Wash

1. Place garments in a wash bag with other like colors
2. Add a small amount of delicate silk detergent
3. Wash on a cold - delicate cycle
4. Hang to dry in the shade

Note: ensure nothing that could catch onto the silk fabric is placed in the machine (hooks, zippers, etc). A silk-only load is preferred.

Other

Due to silk being a natural fibre, wrinkles and creases are inevitable. To bring the silk back to it's smooth, shining surface, you can turn the pillowcase inside out and iron or steam on a low heat.
